The transfer prices in the table are what registrars list. Whether a transfer of a .ch domain is free or paid, and whether it adds registration time, is not confirmed here and depends on the extension and the registrar. See the Facts tab.

.ch is Switzerland's country-code domain. It was added to the root zone on 20 May 1987. The letters come from Confoederatio Helvetica, the Latin name for Switzerland, which is also why Swiss cars carry "CH" stickers.
SWITCH, the Swiss foundation that runs the national research and education network, manages .ch for the Swiss government's Federal Office of Communications. SWITCH has looked after .ch from the start and also runs Liechtenstein's .li.
It used to sell domains directly to the public, but since 2015 all new registrations go through accredited registrars, and SWITCH runs the registry behind the scenes.
Anyone can register a .ch name. You don't need Swiss citizenship, a Swiss address or a Swiss company. A couple of exceptions: the names of Swiss towns and municipalities are kept for those municipalities.
Swiss authorities can also ask a holder for a Swiss correspondence address and proof of identity in some cases, such as when a domain is suspected of abuse.
Don't confuse .ch with .swiss. .ch is the open country code. .swiss is a separate extension run by the Swiss government, and only applicants with a real Swiss connection can register it.
Swiss businesses, banks, insurers, universities, public offices and individuals use .ch. International companies use it for their Swiss websites, often in German, French and Italian. Swiss shoppers tend to trust it for local services, but because registration is open to everyone, a .ch address alone doesn't prove a business is Swiss.
