.at is Austria's country-code domain. It was added to the root zone on 20 January 1988. Austrians use it as their everyday web address, and because "at" is also an English word, some brands use it for wordplay.
nic.at GmbH manages .at. Based in Salzburg, it was founded in 1998 to take over from the University of Vienna, which managed the domain in its early years. nic.at runs the registry and the name servers.
